That was a rainy day and the rain was quite heavy. In spite of the rain, we started trekking in the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary by 10:00 am. The umbrellas and raincoats were inadequate to  offer any protection from heavy rain which was accompanied by strong wind. All children and their parents got wet. The initial discomfort passed as they started fun games in streams on the way and all started enjoying the monsoon down-pour.
